Direct imports:

Supeme O’Lee  – 1973 S.A. Reserve Junior Three Gaited Champion – sire of numerous S.A. Champions and Grand Champions. (See below)

Sultan’s Beauty Queen – owned by Kosie and Dina Botha, dam of S.A. Champions, Simon Templar, Aqualady.

Sultan’s Blue Skies – sire of Miss Blue - SA. Grand Champion Mare in Hand. S.A. Champion Childs Riding Horse.

O’Lee O’ Lee – Weanling World Champion. S.A. Grand Champion Stallion in hand. Imported by Inus van Niekerk.

His Honour The Sultan – imported by Judge Dirk Kotze. Sire of Sultan’s Sheena (x Feeling Free). S.A. Champion Child’s Riding Horse. Sire of Sultan's Xterminator, the sire of the current (2005) S.A. Fine Harness Grand Champion, Sultan’s Zorba.

All of them had a positive influence on the local industry but none as big as the legendary Supreme O’ Lee. He is a product of the so-called golden cross being by Supreme Sultan out of a Wing Commander mare, The Royal Princess.  Originally registered as The Royal Sultan he was imported as a yearling by the late Bill Sieberhagen and Danny Theron of Richmond in 1971. Gielie Visser of Darling was his last owner.

So even though few Supreme Sultan imports got to South Africa we definitely had one of the best in Supreme O’Lee. If one look at the success of Supreme O’ Lee as a sire he especially had a huge influence on our broodmare band. If one studies the above it is crystal clear that Supreme O’ Lee’s second and third generation descendants were especially influential in South Africa and now also back in the USA.
